Handmade Ceramics

My pieces are all made out of stoneware or porcelain clays. I typically use stoneware clay for plates, bowls, mugs and home decor items. The mid-fire stoneware clay I use is fired to cone 6. It is vitrified at this temperature and typically absorbs only 1-1.5% water.

As with all ceramics, my items are breakable. Take care not to drop them, they will break!

Dishwasher and Microwave

Although these items can be placed in the dishwasher and microwave, I encourage the use of hand washing. Dishwashers are pretty hash to ceramics and the strong detergents can cause extra wear and tear. So I would suggest the art of gentle handwashing.

Scratching and Staining

Always place any ceramic item onto delicate surfaces with great care. When moving them from one spot to another, lift them, don’t pull or push them. This will avoid scratching delicate surfaces.

Vases and Vessels

My Ceramic vases and vessels are vitrified and have glazed interiors, which means they should hold water without leaking. Water left in a ceramic vessels over a long period of time, could potentially leak. If you are concerned about your surface or furniture, I would recommend placing a plate or coaster underneath it as a precaution.

Careful attention is made to the packaging of orders. I can not take responsibility for packages lost or damaged by Australia Post. However, if an item is damaged or lost in the shipping process, please get in touch straight away, so we can sort out the issue.

Uniquely Imperfect

All my ceramics are handmade. No two items are the same! This means you accept (and, I hope, appreciate) the imperfections that may occur in all my pieces. The piece received may not look exactly the same as in the photos on this website. Glazes and finish of the ceramics will vary between pieces which reflects their handmade nature.
